Welcome to Delivery Beyond.

My vision is for you to feel seen, supported, and empowered during pregnancy and postpartum. I hope you can find accessible and affordable resources that can help you during this life transition.

About me

Welcome to Delivery Beyond. My name is Abriana Gilchrist, but you can call me Bre.

As a woman of color, I knew my pregnancy experience would be different. I entered this process with a distrust of medical providers. When I developed perinatal depression and anxiety, I was forced to find my own mental health support resources. Even through my own research and conversations with my provider, I found it difficult to navigate and access systems of care.

I got pregnant while pursuing my Master’s Degree at one of the top universities in the country and still did not feel supported during my pregnancy and postpartum.

As a part of my educational experience, I was given the opportunity to work with Dr. Kiley Hanish at Return to Zero: HOPE. Because of my personal experience, my goal was to fill a gap for pregnant and postpartum families. In an attempt to make it easier to find accessible and affordable resources, I created this platform. I hope you find it helpful in your journey.

  • " I didn't know what to look out for when I was pregnant. Physically it was really easy, but emotionally, I was in a very low space. Maybe it was depression? I didn’t get a formal diagnosis, but it was hard to do a lot of things. I did not feel like myself."

    Cassie S.

  • "Breastfeeding was hard. In-person classes were offered, but I didn’t have time to get to them."

    Ariana C.

  • "I struggled to find myself and my identity after having a baby. I feel most women experience this in some way."

    Ariana C.

  • "The midwife, hospital, and doula gave me pamphlets with signs of Postpartum Depression, but I was not given resources or referrals."

    Lynae B.

  • "I definitely experienced PPD (postpartum depression) and PPA (postpartum anxiety). I did not leave the house for the first 4-6 months with the baby. I sought out therapy, but the required process made it difficult to access. Once I was assigned a therapist, it was not the right fit, but I tried to make it work."

    Bre G.

  • "In therapy, they mentioned Postpartum Depression, but there was nothing said about Postpartum Anxiety."

    Taryn M.

  • "After my second pregnancy, I felt different. I read up on PPD and mentioned it to my doctor, but they told me I was not experiencing PPD and would not do anything about it. "
